Survivors include his wife Roxanne, a daughter, Penny Picray of Monticello, sons: Thomas (Elizabeth) Picray of Middletown, OH and Jerry (Laurie) Picray of Farley, IA; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, a brother Ron (Jane) Picray of Monticello, and sisters Connie (Jerry) Breitbach of Cascade, IA. Judy (Duane) Sternhagen of Hopkinton, IA, and Marlene (Dan) Moats, of Monticello. In addition to his first wife he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Gerald, and granddaughter Amy Jean Sisson. Eugene was born October 2, 1942 in Monmouth, Iowa the son of Eugene and Dorothy (Ruley) Picray Sr. He married Peggy Kernen on September 2, 1961 in Monticello. She died in 2002. On June 11, 2004 he married Roxanne Manning in Monticello, IA. He was employed by the Pete Gombert Logging Company in Anamosa, and later worked as a heavy equipment operator for various construction companies. He enjoyed reading and watching his westerns, NASCAR and helping his son Jerry with his race car and helping his dad and brother on the farm. Eugene died Monday at his home in Monticello of cancer.
