DYERSVILLE, IOWA Eugene H. Lansing, 81, of Dyersville, Iowa died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Friends may call from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, with a Legion service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Farley, Iowa with burial in Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque, Iowa. Rev. Kurt Hansen will officiate. Eugene was born April 9, 1931, in Guttenberg, Iowa the son of Leo and Ida (Wernke) Lansing. He married Marvel Marcov on August 7, 1972, in Dubuque, Iowa. He served in the Korean War. He was a life-long member of the Church. Surviving are his 2 step-sons: Doran (Lyn) Hines of Marshfield, MO and Mark (Debra) Hines of Cedar Rapids; a step-daughter, Debra Renee Roth of Dyersville; siblings: Patrick (Maryann) Lansing, Patsy (Dick) Thiesen, Betty (Vince) Vanden Heuvel, and Jana Lammers; 14 step-grandchildren; many step-great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat Zoey. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marvel, 2 step-children, April Dean and Gregor Charles Hines; 3 brothers: Jerome, Robert, and Roger Lansing; and a sister, Maryann LeBee. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunset Park, Mercy Hospital, and a special thank you to Dr. Runde. The family is very grateful for all who touched his life and for all your many prayers.
