Eunice Sophia Vorwald

Eunice Sophia (Buechel) Vorwald was born the daughter of Henry and Rose (Junk) Buechel on October 24, 1916 in Guttenberg. She passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Eunice graduated from St. Marys School in Guttenberg. She married Eldon "Mike" Vorwald on January 14, 1941 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Guttenberg. They were blessed with five children. In the traditional sense, Eunice was a homemaker, but to those who knew her, in the real sense she was so much more. She was a lifetime member of St. Marys Church and St. Annes Society. Eunice enjoyed crocheting, reading, taking walks and spending time with her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her five children, Michael (Nancy) Vorwald of Pennsylvania, Timothy (Cecelia) Vorwald of Mc Gregor, IA, Todd (Joan) Vorwald of South St. Paul, Minn., Ann Vorwald of Ames, IA and Kris Stocks of Guttenberg; nine grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren; one brother William Buechel of Cedar Rapids and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, Lorraine Ahlers, Rita Kann, Lois Harbaugh, and two brothers, James and LorenIn Lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family of Eunice Vorwald.Visitation: Thursday 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.
