Obituary Fannie Mae Trayer, age 89, of Garnavillo, IA, died Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Guttenberg Care Center. She was born on April 8, 1931 in Peoria, ILL, the daughter of Harry and Evelyn Gull. Fannie graduated from the Garnavillo High School with the class of 1948 and she continued her education in Ann Arbor Michigan where she pursued the practical school of nursing. Over the years Fannie cared for people in one capacity or another. She cared for the sick, was the school crossing guard in Garnavillo, offered special needs assistance at the Garnavillo School and also worked as a nurses aid at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Fannie also worked at the Kountry Manor for many years. Fannie was an EMT in Garnavillo as well as a 4-H leader. She volunteered at Girl Scout day camp for several years at Buck Creek. Fannie was a member of the Guttenberg Hospital Auxiliary, volunteered with outings at the Guttenberg Care Center and was a member of TOPS. Fannie enjoyed traveling to Europe which she did several times with her late husband Joseph. She visited Scandinavian and Balkan countries, visited the USSR before it became Russia/Yugoslavia. She took numerous trips to Alaska to visit her daughter and family. Fannie and her husband Joseph were King and Queen in the Garnavillo 4th of July Parade and she enjoyed going for walks, gardening and collecting coins. Fannie entered heaven leaving behind her daughter, Beverly Sullivan, of Dunkerton, IA; 4 grandchildren, Robin (Kent) Walton of Illinois, Ryan (Brittani) Sullivan of Virginia, Samuel (Nicki) Sullivan of Alaska & Sarah (Tim) Kroeze of Connecticut; 8 great grandchildren, Timothy Walton, Calvin Sullivan, Joel Sullivan, Bethany Walton, Abigail Sullivan, Maryah Spencer-Sullivan, Ethan Sullivan & Isaiah Kroeze; half-sister, Dixie (David) Estrem of Cedar Rapids; sister in law, Nancy Gull of Garnavillo and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph; brother, Larry Gull and son in law, Joseph Sullivan. Services No services to be held
