Frances Calista Mclane

Frances Calista McLane, age 97, of Guttenberg, IA, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the Guttenberg Care Center. She was born on the home farm near Luxemburg on September 14, 1919, the daughter of John and Catherine (Reiff) Henkels. Frances attended the Catholic School near Luxemburg and was later married to Jerome McLane in 1941. She worked for various restaurants for over 30 years. Frances enjoyed playing cards, reading, making an occasional trip to the casino, spending time with family and she always walked to church every Sunday for Mass. Frances is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Marlene) McLane & Steve (Vicki) McLane both of Guttenberg; son in law, David Wright of Port Byron ILL; 6 grandchildren, Rod McLane, Mike (Christa) McLane, Tim Wright, Scott (Tammy) Wright, Matthew & Amy McLane; 7 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 daughters, 1 in infancy and Lorna; 4 sisters, Coletta, Calista, Catherine & Bernice; 6 brothers, Ervin, Cletus, Aloysius, Gebhardt, Jerome & John.
