Francis "Duke" Ludovissy was born the son of Joseph and Theresa (Welty) Ludovissy, November 5, 1924, at North Buena Vista, Iowa. He died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital (short illness). Duke was employed by John Deere Dubuque Works in Dubuque for 32 years and farmed with his family. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in North Buena Vista and Eagles Aerie #4114, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, pool league, cards, and trap shooting as a sharpshooter. On March 9, 1946, he was united in marriage with Louise Schrunk in Guttenberg. He is survived by his wife, Louise; six daughters, Connie (Jack) Harbaugh, Jerri (Doug) McGuine both of Guttenberg, Jane (John) Johnson of Kenosha, Wis., Julie (Art) Willie, Cindy (Pat) Wachendorf both of Guttenberg, and Dixie (Paul) Beckman of Monticello; one sister, Mary Engling of North Buena Vista; two brothers, Walter (Laurie) Ludovissy of North Buena Vista and Clarence (Madonna) Ludovissy of Guttenberg, nineteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren and two great grandchildren on the way; three sisters in law, Kathy Ludovissy of North Buena Vista, Hattie Appleton, and Dorothy Gage; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Nick Wachendorf and Jackie Harbaugh; two great grandchildren, Dillon Funk and Kendra Harbaugh; two brothers, Joseph and Celestine Ludovissy; and one brother in law, Ronnie Engling.Visitation: 4:00-8:00 P.M.
