Galen Moser

Galen Eugene Moser, age 66, of Guttenberg, IA, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. He was born on October 22, 1947, in Millville, to Clark L. and Letha Moser. Galen was baptized on September 24, 2014. On February 28, 1970, Galen was united in marriage with Shirley Werfiled at the United Methodist Church in Guttenberg and was later blessed with three daughters. Galen worked for Wright Tree Service, National Tree Service, Swales Concrete & Bard Concrete for 44 years. Galen & his brother owned the Moser Tree Service. Galen would have been a member of the Guttenberg Fire Department for 25 years this coming February. He loved playing cards and hunting with Mike Ries. Galen enjoyed helping people. His past time was being at the Eagles Club playing cards with friends, working for the tree service and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandson. Galen also had a special interest for his grandfathers 67 Chevy pickup. Galen is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley; three daughters, Melissa (Terry) Lacy, Wanda Moser and Crystal (Dan) Duwe; 4 grandchildren, Zackery Lyle Lacy, Jessi Faye Reinhardt, Brandon Daniel Duwe and Abigayle Ann Duwe; one great grandson, Peyton Robert Lacy; mother, Letha Moser; one brother, Garry (Sandy) Moser; one sister in law, Cheryl, special nieces and nephews and many many friends. Galen was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Kerry and Kenny Moser and one sister, Erika Moser.In Lieu of flowers, plants and all types of sympathy, Galen personally requested memorials to be sent to either, Bethel Cemetery, Guttenberg Eagles Club, Guttenberg Fire Department or to Family Choice.Memorial Service: Private Family Services will be at a later date. , atVisitation: Sunday 2:00 - 6:00 P.M.
