Germaine Schlichte

Surviving are her husband, Joseph, of Dyersville; one daughter, Lois (Roger) Klostermann of Dyersville and one son, Marv (Mary) Schlichte of Cedar Rapids, IA; a son-in-law, Loras Rausch of Dyersville; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: Gerald (Irma), Ray (Gen), Delbert (Marge) and Donald (Darlene) Olberding; 2 sisters: Catherine Griffin and Mercedes (Gilbert) Singsank; and a sister-in-law, Eileen Olberding, all of Dyersville. Germaine was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Linda Rausch, on May 30, 2003, and a brother, Robert Olberding. Germaine was born March 18, 1923 in Dyersville, IA the daughter of Frank and Cecelia (Meis) Olberding. She married Joseph Schlichte on October 7, 1941, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica. Germaine was a homemaker and cooked for the Western Dubuque School System for 20 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the American Legion Auxiliary. Germaine enjoyed playing cards, cooking, watching ball games and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of Dubuque.
