Germaine Stoffel

Germaine Agatha (Heiderscheit) Stoffel, age 87, of Guttenberg, died Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Strawberry Point Lutheran Home. She was born the daughter of the Joseph and Catherine (Klein) Heiderscheit, on December 30, 1922 on the family farm near Richardsville, Iowa. Germaine received her education locally, farmed with her family, worked for J.P. Zaph Co., Muters Co Original Enders Co., and Theis Clothing Co., for many years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, volunteer work, and was an active member of St Marys School and Church. On February 10, 1942, she was united in marriage with Merlin Stoffel at St. Josephs Church in Richardsville. She is survived by three daughters, Janet (Bill) Wilson of Strawberry Point, Carol (Vince) Meyer of Osterdock, and Cathy (Lennie) Beck of Garnavillo; six sons, Jim (Vicki) Stoffel of Norwalk, Bob (Micki) Stoffel of Cedar Rapids, Pete (Betty) Stoffel of Cedar Rapids, Tom (Sherri) Stoffel of Clayton Center, Paul Stoffel of Aurora, and Ron (Rena') Stoffel of Postville, twenty-six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Francis (Mildred) Heiderscheit of Dubuque and Dan (Doris) Heiderscheit of Denver, Colorado; one brother-in-law, Bernard Stoffel of Dubuque; four sister-in-laws, Patricia Heiderscheit of Rockton, Illinois, Theresa (Jim) Hanson of Dubuque, Rosemary Ploessl of Holy Cross, Joan Klein of Balltown and Gertrude McDermott of Epworth.
