Gertrude Christen

Gertrude Amelia (Palmer) Christen, age 92, of Guttenberg, IA, died Monday, September 18, 2006, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA. She was the daughter of Henry and Lizzie (Geisler) Palmer, born February 5, 1914, near Osterdock. On October 14, 1939, she was united in marriage with Elmer Christen in Manchester and was a homemaker for many years. She is survived by two sons, Mark (Lorna) Christen of West Des Moines and Lyle (Songhe) Christen of Guttenberg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; one daughter, Linda Sharp; one son, Edwin; four sisters, Goldie Palmer, Alvina Hagen, Emma Bush, and Marguerite Handke; and two brothers, Eugene and Arthur.Graveside Service: 2 PM wednesday September 20, 2006 at Bethel CemeteryInterment: Rural Osterdock, Iowa Service Information A service summary is not available
