Obituary Gladys L. Georgeson passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg, IA. Gladys LaVina (Davidson) Georgeson was born on March 16, 1925 to Thomas and Clara Bern Davidson in Spring Valley WI. She attended schools in Wisconsin and Illinois. She married Kenneth N. Georgeson on November 4, 1942 in Capron, IL Two daughters born to this union: Connie (Gary) Backes, Guttenberg, Iowa and Linda Countryman of Polo, Illinois. She had 4 grandchildren, Sonja (Chris) Carmon, Cambridge, IA, Jeanine (Paul) Lovell, Cresco, IA, Melody Countryman, Ashton, IL, Eric Countryman Polo, IL and one Special great granddaughter Hannah Carmon, Cambridge, IA. Kenneth passed away April 30, 1993. Gladys worked for many years at Edenfruit Products, Poplar Grove, IL until they closed and then she worked at Harvard Farms in Harvard, IL until she retired in 1992. She was a member of Capron Lutheran Church since 1937. She moved to Guttenberg, IA in May of 2005 where she made many new friends and enjoyed going to St. Johns Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughter Connie (Gary) Backes,3 granddaughters, one great granddaughter and her sister, Thelma Melquist, Rockford, IL, relatives in Norway and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, her parents, a sister, two brothers, her daughter Linda, her grandson Eric and 2 nieces and one nephew. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. A visitation will take place from 10 until the time of service on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Patrick Anderson will officiate. Burial will take place at Long Prairie Cemetery in Capron, IL. Memorial contributions in Gladys name to the family to determine a charity of their choice.
