ANAMOSA, IOWA Glen "Bud" Simmons, 74, of Anamosa, Iowa died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello at 5:00 p.m., on Monday, January 5, 2015, immediately following the service there will be a dinner at the American Legion Hall . Officiating will be Kurt Rich. Friends may call from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello. Burial will be at a later date. Bud was born on January 30, 1940, in Anamosa the son of Glen and Nylene (Lincoln) Simmons. Glen graduated from the Amamosa High School. He married Judy Holmes on March 3, 1960. He worked at Iowa Manufacturing for 35 years as a welder and a field rep where he traveled all over the world. Survivors include his wife, of 55 years Julia "Judy", 2 sons: Jack (Judy) of Avondale, AZ and John Simmons of Marion, IA; 4 grandchildren: Rebekah Simmons, Sherry and Michael McGlaughlin, Dylan Grover, two brothers Scott and Dennis both of AZ, brothers and sisters in law, Jim Holmes, Don (Connie Shover) Holmes, Linda Varner, Mike Edwards, all of Monticello, and Harold Ahrendsen of Hale, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters: Jennifer in 2013 and Rebecca in 1985, one grandson, Jackson Simmons in 2014, sister Mary Kay Stroud.
