Gloria A. Aulwes

GUTTENBERG, IOWA

Gloria A. Aulwes, 87, of Guttenberg, Iowa passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Guttenberg Care Center surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born on July 8, 1937, to Vera Wessel and was raised by Elsie and Wayne Wessel. Gloria married Harold Aulwes on April 16, 1955 in Garber, Iowa.

Gloria enjoyed her time spent with family and friends. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed feeding the family for gatherings. She and Harry ran Aulwes Grocery Store for some years. Together, they spent many years attending family activities, dances, and going on local drives.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 69 years, Harold; children: Marsha (Leroy) Dugan, Steve (Mary) Aulwes, Jim Aulwes, Sue (Bill) Rademacher Jr., Billy Aulwes; grandchildren: Jessica Harbaugh, Matthew (Tara) Aulwes, Jacob (Jenna) Aulwes, Samuel Aulwes, Michael Rademacher, Nicole (Daniel) Briggson, Bruce (Amber) Rodenberg Jr., Dillon Aulwes; step-granddaughter, Marie (Hal) Hepker; great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Josie, Jaxon, Adrianna, Deklyn, Charlee, Lennon, Colt, Kaisen; siblings: Janet (Ron) Gross, Mary Kay (Gale) Brinkman, and Dennis (Jean Ann) Wedeking.

Gloria was preceded in death by her mother; children: Dennis, Michael, Debra (Bruce) Rodenberg; in-laws: Robert (Lois) Aulwes, Betty (Tommy) Phelan, and Kenny (Kay) Aulwes.

Visitation will be held from 12 – 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg where a funeral service will commence at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Mount Harmony Cemetery near Elkport. Pastor Linda Hauschild will officiate.
