Harry Osterkamp

Harry Theodore Osterkamp was born the son of Theodore "Ted" and Marie "Molly" (Harms) Osterkamp, March 10, 1927, in Amber, Iowa. He died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dyersville, following a sudden illness. Harry received his education locally and farmed with his family for many years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 7, 1955, he was united in marriage with Geraldine Konrardy at St. Marys Catholic Church in Dubuque. He enjoyed fishing and especially his fishing trips to Canada. Those left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Carol Tuttle of Marion, Linda Tjaden of Monticello, Brenda (Robert) Leliefeld of Guttenberg, and Karen Osterkamp of Strawberry Point; one son, Dale (Linda) Osterkamp of Elkport; two sisters, Loretta Watters of Dubuque, and Annette (Wayne) Waller of Lamont; five brothers, Carl Osterkamp of Bakersfield, Mo., Matthew "Sunny" (Sylvia) Osterkamp of Fort Payne, Ala., Jimmy (Pat) Osterkamp of Bakersfield, Mo., William "Bill" (Joyce) Osterkamp of Center Junction, Albert "Skip" (Alice "AJ") Osterkamp of Peosta, and Brother- in law-Herman Gansemer of Sherrill; eight grandchildren, Rick Tuttle, Ben Tjaden, Mike Tjaden, Jessica Osterkamp, Calvin Aulwes, Caitlin Aulwes, Jaxson Leliefeld, and Jilliann Leliefeld ; two great-grandchildren, Mia Maas and Bailey Tuttle; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Donald; one sister, Marie Gansemer, and one brother-in-law, Jack Watters.
