Hattie Eva Appleton

Hattie Eva Appleton, age 103, of Guttenberg, IA, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her home. She was born in Greeley Iowa, on June 29, 1913, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Torrey) Schrunk. On June 21, 1942, Hattie was united in marriage to Carroll Appleton in Long Beach, California. Together they owned and operated Appleton Funeral Home in Edgewood for many years before retirement. Hattie was a member of the United Methodist Church and a life time member of the Order of the Eastern Star Minnehaha Chapter #344 Colesburg, Iowa. Hattie spent her last 6 years on her familys home farm living with Art and Julie. Those left to cherish her memory is Hatties sister, Louise Ludovissy; sister in law, Hope Schenke and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carroll in 1981; sisters, Berdina Smith & Dorothy Gage.
