Helen L. (Bailey) Meyer was born the daughter of Henry and Jeannette (Meade) Bailey, March 8, 1917, in Clayton, Iowa. She died Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Helen received her education from Clayton School; worked for Muters Co Original Enders Co.; and was a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed traveling; hunting ginseng, and elk out West; fishing; camping; bingo; and the Red Hat Society. On August 18, 1935, Helen was united in marriage with Charles Meyer, in Elkader. Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Jean Jones of Feather Falls, California, Patricia Burley of Huntington, Indiana, and Sandra (Larry) Gansemer of Durango; one step-daughter-Eileen Swanson of Princeton, Minnesota; two sons, Terry (Pat) Meyer, and Raymond (Betty) Meyer both of Guttenberg; three brothers, Harold (Brooksie) Bailey of Marengo, Richard (Joan) Bailey of Dubuque, and Clifford (Linda) Bailey of Potosi, Wisconsin, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; stepdaughter, Ilo Killmartin; two sisters, Gladys Gohde, and Grace Hoffman, and two brothers, Bob Bailey and Ray Bailey.Visitation: 5:00-8:00 P.M.
