Helen was born on January 18, 1922 in Hopkinton, IA, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Sternhagen) Werner. She married Linus F. Luesnmann on August 31, 1954 in Worthington, IA. Together they farmed in rural Bankston, retiring in 2000. Linus died on May 22, 2007. Helen enjoyed baking, cooking, embroidery painting and her farm cats. Her family was important to her and she devoted herself to caring for them. Survivors include 3 sons: Richard (Cynthia) of Dubuque, IA, Michael of Epworth, IA, and Ken (Deb) of Holy Cross, IA, one daughter, Katherine (Michael) Clancy of Epworth, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a brother Howard (Rose Ann) Werner of Worthington, sisters-in-law Ann Werner and Betty Luensmann of Manchester, IA, and a brother-in-law John (Esther) Luensmann of Worthington. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson James Smith, sisters Florence Drees and Christine Jaeger, and brothers Norbert, George, Ray, and John.
