Helen S. Borcherding

Obituary Helen Shirley Borcherding, age 73, of Garnavillo, IA, died Saturday, November 27, 2021, in her home in Garnavillo, IA. Helen was born on April 26, 1948 to Leslie and Lucetta (Noeding) Davies in McGregor Iowa. She graduated from high school in McGregor IA. On August 16, 1969 she married the love of her life Burnell Borcherding at First Congregation Church in McGregor, Iowa. She was a dedicated member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1977. Helen loved to spend time with her family, she always had the biggest and most loving hug for anyone that visited her home. Left to cherish her memory are her: two daughters, Melissa Borcherding of Garnavillo and Mariann (Shawn) Gilpin of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Michael Borcherding of Garnavillo and Mark (Loretta) Borcherding of Elgin; five grandchildren, Taylor Borcherding, Cole Borcherding, Lucas Gilpin, Ava Gilpin, and Olivia Gilpin; one sister Marilyn Kernall, one brother Jerrold Davies, in-laws Lyle (Darlene) Glawe, Jim (Jan) Soloman, and Dennis Borcherding, plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Burnell, one sister Jeanene Eggen, brother Bob Davies; in-laws Harvey (Eldoris) Borcherding.
