Helen Virginia Hoffmann

Helen Virginia Hoffmann, 83 of McGregor, IA, died Saturday March 15th, 2014 at the Great River Care Center in McGregor. Helen was born January 20, 1931 the daughter of Jim and Sally Hobbs. Helen and her first husband, Nolan Reed were blessed with three sons, Frank (Deb) Reed of Wiley, CO, and Philip (Kim). Helen worked in healthcare for many years including Iowa General County Hospital, Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Convalescent Home in Prairie du Chien, and the Great River Care Center in McGregor. She devoted her life caring for people. Helen moved to the Valley View Apartments in McGregor and was good friends with all the tenants that lived there. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known to share her treats. Helen is survived by son Frank, and a stepson Joe Hoffman. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Cecil Hobbs of Dearing, Georgia Helen was preceded in death by her husbands Nolan Reed and Lawrence Hoffmann, her son Phillip, and grandson Andy Reed.Graveside Service: Thursday, 10:30 A.M.
