Henry A. “Hank” Moser, 88, of Guttenberg, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at Elkader Care Center in Elkader, Iowa.
Hank was born on January 8, 1936, and raised in Guttenberg and spent his whole life in the town he loved. He graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1953. He married Corine (Chettinger) Moser in Elkader, Iowa on August 31, 1959.
Hank enjoyed telling stories and he had a lot of them from all of the places he has been and the jobs he held. He loved anything to do with water (Lakes, Rivers, etc.) and also cars. Some of his jobs included a deckhand on the iron ore boats on the Great Lakes and the Parts and Service Manager at Kunzman's Motors in Guttenberg in the 70s & 80s. When Kunzman's Motors closed in the 80s Hank decided to see America and became a semi driver. When he left semi driving he worked for Western Auto in Dubuque, Iowa. Upon retirement in the late 90s due to a health issue he would spend any time he could on the Mississippi River fishing with friends and family. He also loved his morning breakfasts at the Stadium Bar and Restaurant because he could tell all of his adventures and talk about old times with his friends. Hank also spent time at the casino with his wife Corine and upon her death he began going with other family members and friends.
Surviving are his children: Barbara (Duane) Iburg of Williamsburg, Iowa, Donald J. (Patti Jo) Moser of Sarona, Wisconsin; sister, Hilda Moser Kalina; three grandchildren: Greg (Donna)Herzog, Adam Herzog and his fiance Nicki Isaacson, and Valerie (Steve) Reimer; six great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
