Herbert Simons

Obituary Herbert Simons, age 81, of Colesburg, IA, died Monday, December 17, 2018, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg, IA. Herb was born May 26, 1937 to Elmer Simons and Bertha Mae Bowman around the rural Colesburg area. In his younger years he drove livestock trucks and later on in life he worked for various farmers in the area. Herb enjoyed spending time with his kids going to many truck and tractor pulls that were held at the county fairs and on the fourth of July, he could also be found watching his grandchildren show cattle at the fairs. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Lisa Simons, Steve (Deb Gentz) Simons, Jason Simons, Julie (Mike) Palmer; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; siblings; Lester (Carol) Simons, Sharon (Charlie) Funk, and longtime friend Joyce Simons, plus many other nieces nephews relatives and friends. Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jackie Palmer, one brother Chyrold Simons and a sister in infancy.
