Howard was born on November 28, 1926 at New Vienna, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Clara (Bildstein) Wedewer. He was united in marriage to Darlene E. Kern on August 16, 1950 in Dyersville, Iowa. He served in the Korean War for 2 years, and he farmed from 1952-1979 in the New Vienna area. He was a member of the Edward W. Lake V.F.W Post 7736 and St. Boniface Holy Name Society. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, softball, playing cards and watching baseball. He is survived by his wife Darlene of New Vienna, Iowa 3 daughters: Diane (Larry) Kloser of New Vienna, Iowa, Lynn (Matt) Linder of Earlham, Iowa, and Vickie (Bud) Feldmann of Dyersville, Iowa. 4 sons: Gary (Carol) Wedewer of New Vienna, Iowa, Carl Wedewer of North Buena Vista, Iowa, Ron (Tirzah) Wedewer of Petersburg, Iowa, and Ken (Krystal) Wedewer of Key West, Iowa. 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. One brother, David (Joan) Wedewer, of New Vienna, Iowa and two sisters: Bernice (Arnold) Lueken of Colesburg, Iowa and Elaine (Francis) Vonderhaar of New Vienna, Iowa, one brother-in-law Lawrence Deppe of Dyersville, Iowa and one sister-in-law Kathleen Trenkamp of Dyersville, Iowa He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Helen Deppe and one brother Leon Wedewer.
