Ione Reinitz

Ione Opal (Meyer) Reinitz was born on March 19, 1925 in rural Guttenberg, the daughter of Walter W. and Malinda (Noack) Meyer. She passed away Friday January 10, 2014, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Ione was baptized April 26, 1925 at St. Johns Church in Guttenberg. Ione was confirmed April 2, 1939 at St. Johns as well. She attended school at the Jolly Ridge School and later at Guttenberg High School where she graduated with the class of 1942. After graduation, Ione taught school for 2 years, worked in a defense plant during World War II and worked as a waitress. On December 9, 1947, Ione was united in marriage with Russell Reinitz at St. Johns Church in Guttenberg where they made their home. This blessed union brought them 3 daughters. Ione was a homemaker, lifelong member of St. Johns where she belonged to DORCAS for many years. Ione along with her husband enjoyed playing cards with other couples. While Russ managed Lakeside, Ione would help out at events and enjoyed the many dances they hosted all those years. Those left to cherish Iones memory are her three daughters, Peggy (Jerry) Rausch of Guttenberg, Nancy (Larry) Kelley of Slocomb Alabama, and Jane Pearson of Bondurant, IA; five grandchildren, Tim (Fianc Tylyn Lacy) Rausch, Melanie (Fianc Josh Rohner) Rausch, Michelle (Fianc Brent Carroll) Smith, Alex (Jennifer Ingram) Smith, Paige (Kody) Kromrie; five great grandchildren, Kaiden and Koree Rausch, Corbyn and Caylee Rohner, and Gracie Smith; three siblings, Carlyn (Elgen) Meyer of Peosta, Allyn (Joanne) Meyer of Cedar Rapids, Karen (Syed) Hussain of Cupertino, California, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Russell.In Lieu of flowers and all types of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established and they can be sent to P.O.
