Irma Kennicker

Survivors include 2 daughters: Kathy R. (Terry) Steffen of Holy Cross and Janet P. (James) Reuter of Zwingle; 2 sons: John F. (Linda) Kennicker and Joseph A. Kennicker, both of Holy Cross, IA; 10 grandchildren: Eric, Todd, April, Tracy (fiancé Jeremy Burds) and Tammy Steffen, Nick and Emily Kennicker, Adam, Andrew and Kristin Reuter; a sister, Rosemary Woodhouse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, on December 21, 1996. Irma was born October 19, 1920, in Sherrill, IA the daughter of Roy and Pauline (Hehl) Henkels. She worked at the Battery Factory and for various families doing housework. She married Raymond F. Kennicker on Oct. 6, 1953, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Sherrill, IA. Together they farmed in the Holy Cross area for 48 years. She was an active member of St. Joseph Parish and its Rosary Society in Rickardsville. She loved her cats, making pies, fixing dinner for anyone who was there, gardening and her fruit trees. She was good to her grandchildren.
