Irvin Overman

Survivors include his wife, Lu, children: Don (Diane) Overman of Dyersville, IA, Jim Overman of Lisbon, IA, Wayne (Linda) Overman of Murfreesboro, TN, Dennis Overman of Earlville, IA, and Lori (Gary) Wessels of Dyersville, 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, special nephew, Larry (Sue) Bonert, sisters-in-law: Gladys Overman and Dessy Overmann both of Dyersville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Janice (in infancy), 2 grandchildren: John David and Mark Overman, 4 brothers: Vincent, Aloysius, Edmund and Alfred Overman, 1 sister, Emma Bonert, 2 daughters-in-law: Suzanne and Beth Overman. Irvin was born on July 30, 1923 in Petersburg, Iowa, the son of Anton and Wilhelmina (Thole) Overman. He married Lucille R. Tegeler on November 5, 1946 in Earlville, Iowa. Together they farmed near Earlville moving to Dyersville in 1985. He was a great husband and father who was completely dedicated to his family and was looking forward to celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary in 29 days. Irv loved life regardless of personal hardships and sickness. He loved to play golf, play cards and always had time to visit with friends. He was a true friend.
