Irvin Frederick Rodas was born the son of John and Emilie (Schutte) Rodas on July 5, 1929, in rural Guttenberg. He passed away Friday, October 27, 2006, at his home with his family by his side after a 1 year long illness. Irvin attended high school in Garnavillo and later served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. During his service Irvin received; The Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal and Overseas Bars. After his service he was united in marriage with Frances Tangen on April 3, 1954, in Hesper Iowa. Irvin spent many years working in sales for the Fuller brush and Jewel Tea Companies. In his leisure time Irvin enjoyed; playing cards, taking bus trips, spending time with family and friends, playing the slots and dice and telling a good joke. Those left to cherish his memory are three daughters; Charlotte (Victor) Strang of Davenport, Kathy Rodas of Middletown, Ohio, Karen (Bill) Gillespie of Leclaire, IA; one son, Michael (Londa) Rodas of Leclaire, IA; special friend Ivanelle Bolsinger; seven grandchildren; Katie and Maggie Rodas, Tara, Tim and Amber Strang, Bryan (Melissa) Auliff and Fred (Marcia) Auliff; one great-grandson, Hunter Auliff; one sister Arlene (Al) Halverson of Egon MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister Laura Mohning; two brothers, Lavern and Alto Rodas.Visitation: Monday 10:00-11:00 A.M.
