Dyersville, Iowa James J. Joester, 84, of Dyersville died Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Oakcrest Manor. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW, Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 4:00 p.m. A continued visitation will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. James was born September 14, 1931 in Dyersville, the son of August (Gus) and Hilda (Krapfl) Joester. Jim lived his entire life in Dyersville and was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier parish. He was a hard worker and spent his life working in construction. He was a loyal and loving brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed the Cubs, a good card game, and a day of fishing. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are his two sisters; Mary (Jim) Maiers of Holy Cross and Norma Kerper of Dubuque, nieces and nephews; Steve, Bill and Jeff Maiers, Ann Weinstein, Ellen Baumhover, Dan Kerper, Mary Pat Kerper, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law Al Kerper, and a nephew John A. Kerper. Jim’s family would like to thank the staff at Oakcrest Manor for their care and friendship.
