James Langel

He is survived by his wife, Mary, three children: Scott (fiancé Kendra Seloover) of Earlville, Todd (Jenni) of Manchester and Kim (Brandon) Roemig of Cedar Rapids; 3 grandchildren Tyler and Kennedy Langel and Alyssa Langel; his brother, Tom (Millie) Langel of Dyersville, his sister, Ruth (Melvin) Nickol of Dyersville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry, in infancy. Jim's main love was for his wife, Mary, their three children and three grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. Each of them benefited from his time and talent in carpentry, his great sense of humor and constant joking around. His strong and true friendship was evident in his card clubs, army buddies, American Legion, neighbors and friends, family and co-workers. He also enjoyed electric trains, fishing, working with his John Deere tractors on his beautiful acreage and the Minnesota Vikings. His presence was always felt wherever he was. He died doing what he loved and will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. A memorial fund has been established.
