James J. Reding 77 of Monticello, Iowa passed away on Sunday morning July 18, 2004 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at the Kramer Funeral Home where a Knights of Columbus Service will be held at 7:30 followed by a parish scripture service. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello with Rev. Donald Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Jim was born on May 8, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Jacob & Mary Catherine (Meyer) Reding. He served his country in the Army as a Technical Sergeant during WWII. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1948 with his B.A. Degree in Commerence. He married Rita M. Menster on February 14, 1953 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa. He was partner/owner of Standard Parts Company of Monticello. Jim was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Bowns Assembly #269, V.F.W. and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Rita and three sons: David J. Reding and Gregory J. (Tami) Reding all of St. Louis, MO and Philip J. (Bonnie) Reding of Belleville, IL. Two grandchildren Ethan G. Reding and Tristan M. Reding both of St. Louis His parents preceded him in death.
