Janet K. Willenbring, 67, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away after a short battle with lung cancer, Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at St. Mary’s Campus of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, July 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. John O’Connor will officiate. Janet was born August 21, 1949, the daughter of Donald and Eileen (Westemeier) Huberty. Janet graduated with the first class at Beckman High School. She married James Willenbring on January 16, 1971 in Dyersville, Iowa. Janet worked in the mental health profession for over 30 years. She loved caring for her flowers and became a Master Gardener. Janet was an avid bowler, she bowled in Dyersville, Dubuque and Farley. She was a past Vice President of the Farley Women’s Association and previously on the Board of Director’s for Dubuqueland Bowling Association. She was a diehard Republican and spent many years on various boards in the city and county. She loved her family’s pets, as well as her own. Janet’s grandchildren meant the world to her, she will be missed dearly. Survivors include her husband, Jim, children: Julie (Doug) Bockenstedt of Dubuque, Judy Dean of Dyersville, Joe (Shana) Willenbring of Dyersville, Jill (Nathan) Black of Farley, grandchildren: Taurus Black and Allyssa Dean, in-laws: LeRoy “Sal” Willenbring of Earlville and Olga Willenbring of Petersburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, John and Hilda Willenbring, granddaughter, Isabelle Dean at birth, siblings: Jack Huberty, in-laws: Ervin Willenbring, Patricia Willenbring.
