Janice Irene Rohner

Obituary Janice Irene Rohner, age 86, of Guttenberg, IA, died Sunday, January 16, 2022, with family by her side. She was born on January 7, 1936, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Henry and Marie (Matt) Berns. Janice attended the St. Joseph Catholic School in Garnavillo and later graduated from the Garnavillo High School with the class of 1955. On February 23, 1957, Janice was united in marriage with Donald Francis Rohner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garnavillo. Janice was a member of the Catholic Daughters, St. Annes Society, hospital auxiliary & Guttenberg Care Center Advisory Board. She volunteered at the Guttenberg Care Center, Lock & Dam Museum and the hospital gift shop. Janice loved to play pinochle with her girlfriends and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Janice will be forever loved and cherished by her 4 children, Cindy Troester, Jeff (Julie) Rohner, Karla (Bob Myers) Vogel & Sandy (Fred) Witte; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 siblings, Hank (Sandy) Berns, Marge Bowerman and many other relatives and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; son Dennis Rohner; daughter, Karen Wachendorf and grandson, Travis Rohner. In Lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests memorials to go to St. Croix Hospice 101 Elkader St. Strawberry Point, IA 52076.
