Jean Platz

Jean was born May 27, 1928, in Edgewood, IA the daughter of Florian and Henrietta (Roling) Bruggemann. She received her grade school and high school education at St. Francis Xavier Schools and was a lifelong member of the Xavier Parish. She married Vern Platz on May 30, 1950in St. Francis Xavier Basilica. Mrs. Platz had been employed as a checker for the National Tea Co. and the J. C. Penny Co. She was also employed in the meat department at the Super Valu Store in Dyersville. She retired in 1987. Surviving are her husband, Leverne of Dyersville, a brother, Howard and Theresa Bruggemann and a sister, Lila and Frank Niday all of Dyersville. A Jean Platz memorial fund has been established.
