Jeffery Alan Werger

Jeffery Alan Werger, age 39, of Garnavillo, IA, died Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital due to injuries sustained in an accident. He was born on June 18, 1976 in Prairie du Chien Wis, the son of Alan Werger and Cathy Mclane. Jeffery attended Garnavillo High School where he graduated with the class of 1994. Jeff spent 12 years painting water towers and for the last 6 years he was employed by the City of Garnavillo. On May 3, 2008, Jeff was united in marriage with Jessica Knockel at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garnavillo where the two were later blessed with a daughter named Jayda. Jeff was a kind, and helpful person who took a lot of pride in his work ethic. He was a free spirit who enjoyed music, riding his motorcycle, and was always the life of the party. He was truly an entertainer. Most of all, Jeff loved spending time with his family and friends. Jeff will be forever loved and cherished by his wife Jessica; daughter, Jayda; mother, Cathy Mclane; maternal grandmother, Gloria Priem; paternal grandfather, Deane Werger; brother, Jared Werger; half-brother, Alex (Lindsey) Werger; half-sister, Ali Werger; niece, Kira; nephew, Benjamin; mother-in-law, Linda Knockel and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Werger; step father, Jimmy Mclane; maternal grandfather, Dean Priem; and his paternal grandmother, Marilyn Werger.
