Jerome Bagge

Survivors include his wife, Imogene, sons: Kenneth of Iowa City, IA, Loras (Jolene) of Dyersville, IA, a daughter, Janet (Ed) Putz of Petersburg, 7 grandchildren: Brian, Krystal, Tim and Nicholas Bagge, Brad, Jeremy and Brittany Putz, 5 sisters: Alice Boeckenstedt of Dubuque, IA, Pearl Koelker of Hiawatha, IA, Jeanette Tauke of Dyersville, IA, Priscilla (LaVern) Moorman of Strawberry Point, IA, and Mary Ellen Hoefler of Lamont, IA, 1 brother, Daniel (Myrna) Bagge of Dyersville, IA, 3 sisters-in-law: Carol Bagge and Mercedes Maiers, both of Dyersville, IA, Madonna Wulfekuhle of Manchester, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Leon, 2 sisters, Mila and Betty Bagge, brothers-in-law: Albert Boeckenstedt, Omer Koelker, Cletus Tauke, Arnold Hoefler, Gerald (Aurelia) Grawe, LeRoy Wulfekuhle and Ambrose Maiers. Jerome was born on March 3, 1923 in Petersburg, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Clara (Osterhaus) Bagge. He married Imogene K. Grawe on January 25, 1950 in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they farmed near Petersburg from 1950 - 1964 and near Dyersville from 1964 - 1986 before retiring to Dyersville in 1986. He enjoyed gathering at the Senior Center, playing cards with his neighbors and friends, and collecting toy tractors. Jerome was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1734, a member of Farm Bureau and the Delaware County Pork Producers. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. and a K of C Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2008, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, in Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Phil Kruse. Special thanks to the staff at Shady Rest Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque for their excellent and compassionate care. Memorials are preferred.
