Jesse A. Shefelbine

GARNAVILLO, IOWA

Jesse Alan Shefelbine, 45, of Garnavillo, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the University of Iowa Healthcare in Iowa City, Iowa, following a sudden illness. He was born on November 9, 1979, in Guttenberg, Iowa, to Ricky “Rick” G. and Virginia “Ginny” D. (Troester) Shefelbine.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Jesse enjoyed staying busy. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially, fishing. You often would find him playing darts with his brother and friends, attending cookouts, and going on road trips with his best friend, Carl. Jesse loved anything to do with history, and anyone who knew him, knows he loved his Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings. Jesse was known to go out of his way to help people and make them smile, or play jokes on his nieces and nephews to make them laugh. He will be cherished in our memories and missed dearly in our hearts.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Travis (Kerri) Shefelbine, Valerie Shefelbine, and Lori (Wayne) Patterson; nieces, Addyson, Kyley, Tehya, and Alexis; nephews:Hunter, Logan, Nick, Jashon, Cullen, and Ryan; uncles, Calvin (Angela) Troester and Ronnie Shefelbine; aunts: Debbie Troester and Brandy Rice; many beloved cousins; and his good friend, Carl Hoeger.

Jesse is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Ricky and Ginny; uncles and aunts, and cousin, Ryan.
