Joel Dirks

Joel Thomas Dirks, 1, died Saturday, December 13 following a brief illness. Joel was born in Durham on February 1, 2002. Among many other things, he loved music, especially as he sat in the congregation at Resurrection Lutheran Church with his mother, Sheryle, and they listened to his father, Mark, sing in the church choir. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at the Resurrection Lutheran Church, 100 Lochmere Drive, in Cary, officiated by Pastor Paul Kibler. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2003 at 2:30 pm at St. John Lutheran Cemetery Monticello, Iowa, officiated by Rev. Reed Stockman. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the fellowship hall of the church. Joel is survived by his parents, Mark and Sheryle Kee Dirks of Cary; grandparents, Max and Karen Dirks of Scotch Grove, Iowa, and Joel and Helen Kee of Pilger , Nebraska; uncle, Max Dirks and wife, Renee', of Keosauqua, IA, aunt, Debra Kurt and husband, Aaron, of Monticello, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Music Program, Resurrection Lutheran Church, 100 Lochmere Drive, Cary, NC 27511.
