John A. “Jack” Kramer, 89, of New Vienna, Iowa passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, peacefully at his home.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Chris Podhajsky will officiate.
Jack was born on February 2, 1936, in New Vienna, IA, son of Leo and Camilla (Kluesner) Kramer. He attended St. Boniface School in New Vienna. He married Rosemary Heisler on February 11, 1956, at St. Clements Church in Bankston, Iowa. Together they farmed east of New Vienna and raised their family. He was a member of St. Boniface Holy Name Society. He enjoyed farming, hunting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Rosie; children: Donna Kramer of Dyersville, Rick (Lois Tauke) Kramer of New Vienna, Karl (Cathy) Kramer of Dyersville, Diane Goerdt of Dyersville, Joann (Jim) Langel of Luxemburg and Bonnie (Tommy) Breitbach of Dubuque; grandchildren: Russ (Jody) Steger, Jenny Gibbs, Matt Gibbs, Jayme (Stephanie) Kramer, Nicole (Mike) Seipp, Kyle (Marissa) Kramer, Mitch Goerdt, Ken (Kelly) Langel and Sarah (David) Donovan; great-grandchildren: Abbey and Leah Steger, Ella and Emma Kramer, Gabrielle and Christian Seipp, Delaney and Parker Kramer, Axel, Levi and Madison Langel; sisters-in-law: Jan Kramer and Mary Alice Fettkether.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary, his parents Leo and Camilla (Kluesner) Kramer, parents-in-law, Charles and Rose (Scherbring) Heisler; siblings: Gerald (Velma) Kramer, Robert Kramer and Gladys (Albert) Oberbroeckling; in-laws: Annie (Elmer) Fangmann, Howard Fettkether and Walter Heisler.
The family would like to thank MercyOne, Hospice of Dubuque and Home Instead for the support and care of Jack during this difficult time.
