Joseph W Moody

Joseph William Moody was born the son of George and Dora (Kelly) Moody, August 3, 1918, in Mendota Illinois. He died Friday, September 23, 2005, at Guttenberg Care Center. Joe received his education from the Manchester (Iowa) High School; served his country in the United States Army during World War II; farmed and worked for Trademark Homes for many years. He was a member of Guttenberg American Legion Post 373, and AMVETS. He enjoyed fishing, Pheasant hunting, and woodworking. On May 23, 1938, he was united in marriage with Lola Barker in Dubuque. Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Janice Hoffman of Edgewood, and Jody (Kenneth) Schroeder of Guttenberg; one son, Stuart Moody of Guttenberg; three sisters, Mae Oranger of Mendota, Illinois, Fae Roth of Princeton, Illinois, and Orilla Landers of Davenport, Iowa; special friend, Lillian Handke of Guttenberg; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, George and Steven; two brothers, and three sisters.Visitation: 4:00-7:00 P.M.
