DYERSVILLE, IOWA Joseph S. Weber, 75, of Dyersville, Iowa died Monday, July 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeff Dole will officiate. Joe was born October 17, 1938 in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Alphonse and Marcella (Langel) Weber. He married Elaine Gudenkauf on May 26, 1962, in Worthington, Iowa. Together they farmed near Dyersville for 30 years until retiring in Dyersville in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Elaine, 4 children: Deanne (Paul) Gieser of St. Paul, MN, Cathy Long of Cedar, IA, Philip (Janet) Weber of Norwalk, IA and Patrick (Caryn) Weber of Minneapolis, MN; 5 grandchildren: Adam, Sydney and Jake Long, Rachel and Morgan Weber; his mother, Marcella Steger of Dyersville; 4 siblings: Arthur (Joan) Weber, Kay (Bill) Recker, Lois (Kenneth) Bries and Gerald (Jan) Weber, all of Dyersville. He was preceded in death by his father, Alphonse, his step-father, Edmund "Skinny" Steger and 2 nephews in infancy. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Dubuque.
