Katharine "Kitty" Bartholomew

Katharine "Kitty" Bartholomew was born the daughter of Houston and Nancy (Pearman) Meyer on January 11, 1945, in Rockford, Illinois. She passed away Saturday March 18, 2006, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Kitty graduated from high school and went on to Nurses Training. For over 20 years, she was a dedicated office nurse for Dr. Raul Ruiz, traveling to each hospital that he practiced at. On April 6, 1979 Kitty was united in marriage to Donald Bartholomew at the Church of Christ in Ackley, Iowa. In the summertime, Kitty enjoyed, exploring the Mississippi River, fly fishing for trout on Buck Creek and attended to her flower garden. In the wintertime she would paint and make jewelry. In keeping with Kittys loving and generous spirit, it was her decision to donate life so that others may live. Kitty will be sadly missed by her husband, Donald; mother, Nancy (special friend Bob Culbertson) of Rockford, Ill; one daughter, Leslie (special friend, Winston Whitehead) Bigelow of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sons, Michael (Tanya) DeWitt of Enumclaw, Wash., David (Betty) Dewitt of Mission Viejo, Calif; four grandchildren, Emilee, Laura, Amanda, Hope Marie; one step-daughter-Bridget Bartholomew of Charles City; one step-son, Brett Bartholomew of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Sally Wolf of Cicero, Ind.; three brothers, Tom (Dee) Meyer of Arlington, Texas, Steve Meyer of Porter, Ind. and Andy Meyer of Cicero, Ind.
