Kevin Ottesen

Kevin D. Ottesen, 55, of Dyersville died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Family gathering will begin at 12:00 noon following with a Celebration of Life to be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dyersville. Kevin was born November 6, 1960, in Decorah, Iowa the son of Kenneth and Janet (Vine) Ottesen. He graduated high school in Indianola, Iowa. Keven married Angiela M. Tompkins on April 11, 1987, in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Together they moved to Dyersville in 2000 where they continued to raise their family. Angela preceded him in death in 2008. Kevin was the meat manager for Fareway for many years. Recently he worked for Westlinden Meats. In his free time he loved spending time with his family, listening to his beloved 70’s music. Kevin enjoyed his treehouse and spending time in the outdoors. Survivors include 2 sons: Daniel (Cindy Klaren) Graves and Nicholas Graves, both of Dyersville, a daughter, Felicity (Jesse) Pedrick of Cedar Rapids, one grandson, Caydon Graves, a special friend, Roxanne Klostermann of Dyersville, his parents: Kenneth and Janet Ottesen of Decorah; siblings: Kimberly (Jim) Giardino of Ames, Karen (Dan) Drake of Kansas City, MO, Kristi Haynes of Springfield, MO, his aunt, Sarah Ottesen from Decorah, Iowa, his father-in-law: Robert Tompkins of Centerville, and in-laws: Randy (Carol) Tompkins of Grandview, IA, DeAnn (Martin) Torres of Centerville, IA, and Robin (Brad) Spurgeon of Centerville, IA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie in 2008 and his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Tompkins, uncle David and aunt Marlene Ottesen.
