Ladean Fischer

Obituary LaDean Fischer, age 78, Of Guttenberg IA, died Friday, September 6, 2019, at Mercy One in Dubuque. He was born on November 18, 1940, in Guttenberg, the son of Clarence and Arlene Fischer. LaDean received his education in Guttenberg and graduated with the class of 1958. On February 3, 1962, LaDean was united in marriage with Carol Reth at Trinity Lutheran Church and the couple was later blessed with two children Deb and Scott. In his youth LaDean worked on a farm, and drove semi for several years. He later ran a fuel delivery tank wagon service for 40 years. He served as a captain of the Guttenberg Fire Department for 35 years and also served on the Guttenberg Police Department for 13 years. He later worked for the City of Guttenbergs Maintenance Department and then went on to drive dump truck. LaDean leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Carol; children, Deb (Don) Bries & Scott (Sarah) Fischer; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon (Erin), Brian (Kelsey), Brianna (Seth), Emily (Ricky) & Rochel (friend Quincy). 12 great grandchildren; brother Lee (Cathy) Fischer and many other relatives and friends. LaDean was preceded in death by his parents.
