Larry Dean Dettbarn

Obituary Larry Dean Dettbarn, age 77, died Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was a kind loving father, husband, and friend, and will be deeply missed. He was known for his sense of humor and loved to play pranks on everyone, and would spend hours in his garage doing his woodworking projects. Larry was born on October 12, 1944 to Elmer and Mabel (Cole) Dettbarn in Worthington, Iowa, where he grew up one of five siblings. In April of 1962, Larry joined the United States Army where he served as a SP4-E4, he received a medal for Good Conduct, as well as a marksman medal. Left to honor and cherish his memories are his wife Jean; children Tim (Lori) Dettbarn; Danny Dettbarn, Kathi (Jason) Williamson; Jay (Deanna) Amundson, Jarred (Nicole) Amundson, and Julie Amundson. Larrys grandchildren were Kaylee and TJ Dettbarn; Sasha & Shaida Arbabha, Joseph Hutchison, Will & Makayla Williamson. He also had two great grandchildren, Sahar Arbabha and Harper Hammond, and his 4 surviving siblings: Carl (Shirley) Dettbarn, Bob (Wanda Lacy) Dettbarn, Ken (Gwen) Dettbarn, and Darlene Everett Larry is preceded in death by his Parents.
