Larry William Pensel, age 69, of Guttenberg, IA, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, following a sudden illness. He was born the son of Otto and Alma (Benskin) Pensel, February 3, 1937, near Colesburg. Larry graduated from the Colesburg High School; served his country in the United States Air Force as a radar technician; retired from John Deere Works in Dubuque and worked in the Electrical and Refrigeration fields. Survivors include his mother, Alma of Guttenberg; one daughter, Elaine (Clifton) Trail of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four sons, John Pensel of Creston, S.C., Daniel (Teri) Pensel of Orangeburg, S.C., Henry Pensel of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and James Pensel of San Diego, California; one brother, Carl Pensel of Guttenberg; ten grandchildren, Laura, Daniel Jr., Ryan, Leslie, Joshua, Jesse, Angel, Ashley, J.R., and Christian; four great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
