Lavern Clefisch

LaVern John "Red" Clefisch, age 88, of Garnavillo, IA, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at his home in Garnavillo. He was born on August 13, 1923, in Garber to Henry and Anna (Kregel) Clefisch. LaVern received his education and graduated from the Elkport High School at the age 15 years old. He was united in marriage with Luva Kulper on October 8, 1945 at the Elkport Lutheran Parsonage. This union blessed them with nine children, twelve total including three children from Luvas first marriage. For many years, Red worked for Halversons as a mechanic.
