Lavern Fortmann

Survivors include his daughter, Brenda (fiancé Chris Williams) Fortmann of Farley, 4 sisters: Bernice (Jerome) Trenkamp of Worthington, Alice (Clarence) Weber of Bernard, Dorothy (John) Bittner of Guttenberg and Mary Ann Oberfoell of Monticello, 2 brothers: Ralph and Ronald (Phyllis) Fortmann, both of Dyersville, and Brenda's mother, Marcia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Louis Oberfoell. LaVern was born on August 30, 1938 in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Alvin J. and Eleanor (Scherbring) Fortmann. He farmed Northeast of Dyersville his entire life, an occupation he thoroughly enjoyed. Lavern also enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors.
