Laverne Duwe

LaVerne Clarence Duwe age 83, died Monday, February 23, 2009, at his home in Dubuque, IA after a brief illness. He was born on January 15, 1926 in Guttenberg, the son of Ora and Leona (Morarend) Duwe. After receiving his education, LaVerne farmed during his early years. He was employed by Wright Tree Service and worked construction for many years. From June 1951 till May 1953, LaVerne Honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his years of retirement he enjoyed fishing and taking long walks. LaVerne is survived by his one daughter, Sandy Myhre of Elroy, Wis.; one son, Dale (Dianne) Duwe of Garnavillo, IA; 10 grandchildren and great grand children; one brother, Bernell Duwe of Guttenberg and many nieces, nephews and friends.
