LaVonne (Peg) was born May 28, 1924, rural Colesburg, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth C. and Erma Pearl (Bush) Kuhlman. She died Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, Iowa, after an extended illness. LaVonne received her early education at Colesburg and Elkport Independent School and graduated from Colesburg High School in 1941 and then went on to attend Bayless Business College in Dubuque, Iowa; farmed with her family; and throughout the years worked at Utah Electronics, Guttenberg, Iowa, and Area One Agency on Aging, Decorah, Iowa. On May 9, 1942, LaVonne married LaVern Schroeder in Dubuque, Iowa. Surviving are two daughters, Nioka-Nicky (John) Schroeder, Garber, Iowa, and Darcy (Jeff) Bolsinger, Elkport, Iowa; three sons, Ronald (Peggy) Schroeder, Guttenberg, Iowa, Robert Schroeder, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Kevin (Thieu) Schroeder, Garber, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Rhonda), Trisha (Greg), Tonnie (Brian), Kirk, Cody, Heather (Josh) and Keaton; nine great-grandchildren, Dane, Stone, Chaz, Brody, Brielle, Dustin, Christian, Britani and Allison; two step-grandchildren, Alicia and Melissa; twelve step great-grandchildren, Mazzy, Jessica, Gina, Cody (C.J.), Jason, Jonathan, Jessica, Julia, Kamara, Jayden, Lanasia, Kalaya and one step great great grandchild, Erin, one sister-in-law, Betty Kuhlman; special great-niece, Muriel Bush; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaVern in 1995; grandsons, Kenneth LaVern in 1972 and Jonathan Jay in 1998; daughter-in law, Darla Schroeder in 2001 and brother, Kermit Kuhlman in 1992.In Lieu of flowers, plants, statutes, keepsakes, etc. the family requests memorials be given to one of the following or a charity of your choice: St. Johns Church Garber Iowa, Elkport-Garber EMS/Fire, Elkport-Garber Community Club, Mount Harmony Cemetery or Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital Hospice.Visitation: Thursday 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. February 17, 2011 at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home Guttenberg, Iowa and one hour before service at church.Funeral Service: Friday 10:30 A.M.
