Lawrence Steffen

Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen M. (Joey) McFarland of New Vienna, IA, and a son, Gary M. (Judy) Steffen of Luxemburg, IA; two grandchildren, Aimee and Brian Steffen of Luxemburg, IA and one brother, Donald Steffen of Edgewood, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaDonna on 9/21/98, a sister, Agatha Lake, and two brothers, Alphonse and Leander Steffen. Lawrence was born May 26, 1937 in New Vienna, Iowa, the son of Nicholas and Theresa (Gaul) Steffen. He married LaDonna E. Hunt on December 28, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville. Lawrence was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed collecting two-cylinder tractors, attending tractor-cades and farm shows. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Luxemburg. Lawrence enjoyed reminiscing about playing basketball as a youth for Holy Trinity School and his days in military service at Ft. Hood, TX and Ft. Leonardwood, MO. He was in the National Guard and Army Reserves.
