L'Dean Krambeer

LDean Otto John Krambeer, age 90, of Guttenberg, IA, died Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Guttenberg Care Center. He was born on October 11, 1926 on a farm in Luana Iowa, the son of Harold and Leona Krambeer. LDean graduated high school in Farmersburg in 1945, entered WWII in January 1945. On his return home LDean went to work for F.A. Moser. LDean married Betty Jean Piere on September, 29, 1950 in the Farmersburg Lutheran Church. They were blessed with 6 children. LDean was Mayor of Farmersburg in 1976, also served on the town council. He served on the fire department and was even the Fire Chief of Farmersburg during the 70s and 80s. LDean worked construction for many years building bridges and culverts in Iowa and even owned his own construction company. During his free time, LDean enjoyed his garden and building things. He built his cabin in Guttenberg with help from his sons and grandkids. He enjoyed his family and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan. LDean is survived by his children, Murray (Monika) Krambeer of Omaha Neb, Maureen (Ed) Yankuns of Guttenberg, Mickie (Donna) Krambeer of Monona & Matthew (Jeannie) Krambeer of Wadena; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchild and one great grandson to be born in June of 2017; brother, Harold (Deanna) Krambeer; sister, Betty Thomas; sister in law, Maxine Piere and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. LDean was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty in 2006; 2 sons, Mitcheal in 2004, Marty in 2016; granddaughter Melissa in 2014; brother Ray; brother in law Kenny Piere; mother and father in law.
